Rights Gained During the ROARING TWENTIES (ch. 28)
The “Roaring Twenties” was a time where new ideas and prosperity brought change to American pop culture in the 1920s. New and creative entertainment, music, writing, products, inventions, and businesses all contributed to this new way of American life. Although the twenties brought about change and innovations, it unfortunately still did not deliver equal rights for everyone. The equal rights amendment (ERA) guaranteed equal rights for all Americans regardless of gender, however, the amendment remained unpassed and unapproved by congress despite the fact that it was reintroduced several times. Although the ERA was not passed that year and equal rights were not permitted, all women finally gained the right to vote through the 19th Amendment after fighting for so long.
